Girl - Though Cancer has robbed you of happiness, May you be strong......my prayers for you...

Last Friday, while I was cooking, Darling Dearest asked me to stop after he spoked to my sis (while I was doing my cooking, my sis called and asked me to convey to Darling Dearest to return call and I did just that when he came home).
I was suspicious, nevertheless, followed him to the hall. My heart was thumping fast and my imagination starts running wild. Could something has happened mum? Oh no, and before my imagination runs wild further, clearing his throat, he spoke to me very softly,

"Anak abang ngah yg sulung masuk hospital, doctor kata cancer, tak de harapan, dia skg ada kat hospital, dorang nak gi tengok lepas Maghrib, nak ikut tak?...... " I just nodded my head blankly....

It was only after 5 minutes that I managed to compose myself and quickly change my attire to visit my niece in hospital. When we reached the hospital, saw a group of people staying outside the SICU (Surgical Intensive Care Unit). Only 2 visitors are allowed to go in at one time. When it was our turn, I was speechless. Trying very hard to control my tears fm rolling especially when she asked for my forgiveness (I can also see that she's fighting her tears fm rolling).... before saying goodbye to her, managed to kiss her on her cheeks and forehead... "Girl, rehat je, jgn pikir yg bukan², concentrate on getting well...... " I could not continue and quickly made my exit....
Girl,
Semoga kau tabah
Menghadapi badai yg menimpa
Rasanya terlalu hebat
Ujian yg menimpamu saat ini
Namun,
Kau harus terus berjuang
Walau saat pemergianmu
dihitung setiap hari
Percayalah
Allah Maha Kaya,
Allah Maha Mengetahui
Sesungguhnya
Tiada yg mustahil jika
DIA berkehendakkan demikian
Namun, jika memang saatnya
kau harus kembali
tenanglah, kerana sesungguhnya
Dari DIA kita datang
dan
Kepada DIA juga tempat kita kembali...

This is What LOVE is all about....

I received a touching email which I would like to share with you.
Will this not make your eyes fill with tears?

THIS IS WHAT LOVE IS ALL ABOUT
It was a busy morning, approximately 8:30 am, when an elderly gentleman in his 80's, arrived to have stitches removed from his thumb. He stated that he was in a hurry, as he had an appointment at 9:00 am. I took his vital signs and had him take a seat, knowing it would be over an hour before someone would to able to see him.

I saw him looking at his watch and decided, since I was not busy with another patient, I would evaluate his wound. On exam it was well healed, so I talked to one of the doctors, got the needed supplies to remove his sutures and redress his wound. While taking care of his wound, we began to engage in conversation I asked him if he had another doctor's appointment this morning, as he was in such a hurry. The gentleman told me no, that he needed to go to the nursing home to eat breakfast with his wife.

I then inquired as to her health. He told me that she had been there for a while and that she was a victim of Alzheimer Disease. As we talked, and I finished dressing his wound, I asked if she would be worried if he was a bit late. He replied that she no longer knew who he was, that she had not recognized him in five years now.

I was surprised, and asked him. "And you still go every morning, even though she doesn't know who you are?" He smiled as he patted my hand and said. "She doesn't know me, but I still know who she is." I had to hold back tears as he left, I had goose bumps on my arm, and thought, "That is the kind of love I want in my life".

True love is neither physical, nor romantic. True love is an acceptance of all that is, has been, will be, and will not be. With all the jokes and fun that are in e-mails, sometimes there are some that come along that have an important message, and this is one of those>kind. Just had to share it with you all.

Oh, by the way, peace is seeing a sunset, and knowing who to thank. "The happiest of people don't necessarily have the best of everything; they just make the best of everything that comes along their way." Please share this with someone you care about - I JUST DID.

Happy Birthday Singapore!

9 August 2005 - Happy 40th Birthday Singapore!!!

The National Anthem was written over 1956-57 just before Singapore gained self-rule from the British.. The composer, the late Encik Zubir Said, wrote the anthem around the two words, "Majulah Singapura" or "Onward Singapore". It was launched on 3 December 1959 together with the National Flag and the State Crest.

SINGAPORE NATIONAL ANTHEM (IN MALAY)

Mari kita rakyat Singapura
Sama-sama menuju bahagia
Cita-cita kita yang mulia
Berjaya Singapura

Marilah kita bersatu
Dengan semangat yang baru
Semua kita berseru
Majulah Singapura
Majulah Singapura

For 140 years (1819-1959), the Union Jack flew over Singapore. Then, on 3 December 1959, the National Flag, an important symbol of independence, was unveiled together with the State Crest and National Anthem at the installation of the new Head of State, the Yang di-Pertuan Negara. The flag was conceived and created by a committee headed by the Deputy Prime Minister, Dr Toh Chin Chye. The Flag consists of two horizontal halves, red above white. Red symbolises universal brotherhood and equality of men; white, purity and virtue. In the upper left corner, a white crescent moon and five white stars form a circle. The crescent moon represents a young nation on the rise. The five stars stand for Singapore's ideals of democracy, peace, progress, justice and equality.

SINGAPORE'S PLEDGE

We, the citizens of Singapore
Pledge ourselves as one united people
Regardless of race, language or religion
To build a democratic society
Based on justice and equality
So as to achieve happiness, prosperity & progress for our nation

Gamester Race Pack

Gamester_Race_Pack Posted by Picasa

While I bought the iPamper, Darling Dearest bought for himself a Gamester Race Pack. Like a small kid, Darling Dearest enthusiastically assembled it. The full set was fully assembled in less than 1/2 hour and he couldn't wait further to test drive it with his PS2 game!

Went to Jurong Point after work, had a date with Darling Dearest. While having dinner at McCafe, saw Osim booth *winks* Spoke to Darling Dearest that I just wanna have a look at the booth. *Grins* Took fancy to iPamper and managed to speak to Darling Dearest into agreeing to buy my long wanted portable massager. Had a test of the iPamper and instantly fall in luv with it. The sales person also asked me to try their iSqueeze - it's a massager machine for legs, guess had to keep that pending first since Darling Dearest has not given his green light to purchase that. Paid for the iPamper with a wide smile and couldn't wait to be home to try it!

Had a try of iPamper later in the night. The feeling after the massage is so soothing that I felt much relaxed after the massage.

So for you peeps out there, dun delay, have a try on iPamper, am sure you will luv it as much as I do if not more! *wide grins*

Patriotic Song??

This is the excerpt of the email I received.

Quote
With National Day round the corner, we thought you patriotic people might like to sing some songs .... with updated lyrics of course, to reflect thecurrent affairs .........

( Sung to " We are Singapore " )

There was a time when Richard said

That TT Durai didn't do it, but he did

There was a time when Richard said

That NKF didn't do it, but they did

They built NKF, strong and rich,

reaching out together

For more and more money

Chorus :

It is our money, it is our blood,

It is our kindness, it is our tears,

Don't take our money, to be your bonus

Don't cheat Singapore, Singaporeans

( Sung to " One people, one nation, one Singapore " )

We've built NKF with our brains

With educated people from a rich land

Strangers when we first began, now we're all con man

Let's reach out for Singapore, join our hands forevermore

Chorus:

Con people, con nation, con Singapore

That's the way that we believe forevermore

Every dollar and every cent, every woman and every man

Con people, con nation, con Singapore

And when the time comes for the trial

Say nothing, give only denials

We'll be united, hand in hand

We'll show the world just where we stand

And reach out for Singapore, join our hands forevermore

( Repeat Chorus twice )

Con people, con nation, con Singapore

A Sigh of Relief

Hellooooooooo am back to blogging again :)

Last friday, 29 Jul 2005 was my last assignment to Batam and after finalising on the inventory list and last minute changes, managed to get the 8:45pm (Batam time) that is 9:45pm Singapore time; ferry. By the time both my boss n me reached Harbourfront, it was nearly 11pm. After clearing the custom, we rushed to the taxi stand hoping that we could easily get a cab but to our disappointment, there was quite a long queue and we decided to call for a cab. Sent my boss home to Burgundy Crescent first before proceeding to my place where darling dearest has already waited patiently for me.

SATURDAY - 30 JUL '05

As usual, went for my spa treatment and was delighted when learnt that I've lost some weight. Made arrangement with darling dearest for a lunch date at Orchard. Darling dearest reminded me of Arwan's 3rd birthday bash, ooopppsss darn, I've forgotten to get something for that little toddler. Rushed over to the Toy's section at Takashimaya. Yes! There's sale going on at Takashimaya especially on Toys!!! What a coincidence. The toys were really cheap.... toys that used to be about $100 plus went down to $30-$40 dollars. Worth buying right? Thank God managed to get something for him. Darling Dearest went to the birthday bash. I gave it a skip as I was still not feeling too well (came back nearly midnite on Friday). Darling Dearest told me Arwan was so enthusiastic to tear open the wrapper upon seeing the gift. He was all smiles upon seeing what we bought him. Glad that he likes the remote control car that we bought him!

SUNDAY - 31 JUL '05

As we have no agenda of going out, asked Darling Dearest if it's okay to cook spaghetti since I've not been cooking spaghetti for a very looonggg time. I didn't waste much time when he nodded his head. I quickly prepared the ingredients required for making the sauce and taraaa in abt an hour or so managed to cook a simple spaghetti. Since I cooked quite a lot, called my niece to come over. Yummylicioussssssssss!!!! *winks*
